Devin Nunes Says Obama-Era Intel Officials Should Have Clearances Revoked

The chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board has expressed his belief that intelligence and law enforcement officials engaged in criminal activities during their prolonged investigation of President Donald Trump.

Devin Nunes, a former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee who is currently the CEO of Truth Social, also highlighted the necessity of revoking security clearances and removing from office any officials who have misused their authority, as reported by Just the News.

“It’s quite straightforward. There are numerous criminals involved, and it constitutes a grand conspiracy,” Nunes stated to the outlet.

“Recall that we made, I believe, around a dozen criminal referrals during my tenure as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee,” he further remarked.

Nunes indicated that the progression of prosecutions will hinge on whether the statute of limitations has lapsed or if those timelines are extended due to the pursuit of a conspiracy case. He expressed his confidence in FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi to make those determinations.

The former Republican congressman from California, who is now the chairman of the civilian oversight board for U.S. intelligence, stressed that his priority is to ensure that intelligence officers are held accountable and subjected to disciplinary measures—regardless of whether criminal charges are eventually brought.

“I remain intrigued by the individuals who still possess a security clearance. It is astonishing who remains in these agencies,” Nunes remarked. “And I find myself shaking my head every time I look around, thinking, wait, wait, wait, wasn’t that individual involved in the Russia hoax?

“All of those individuals must have their security clearances revoked, and they should not be allowed to work in proximity to law enforcement or intelligence, for that matter,” he added. “This is one of the responsibilities assigned to our board.”

Former CIA analysts assert that the intelligence community is experiencing another significant blow to its credibility following the publication of newly declassified information that claims senior officials from the Obama administration deliberately misled the public into thinking that Trump conspired with Russia to secure victory in the 2016 election.

The documents, which were declassified by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and presented to the Justice Department for possible criminal referrals, underscore what analysts characterize as the increasing politicization and weaponization of the intelligence apparatus—initiated during President Obama’s tenure and persisting into the Biden administration, as reported by the Washington Times on Saturday.

Gabbard contends that high-ranking officials from the Obama administration fabricated a misleading intelligence assessment regarding Russian interference shortly after the 2016 election, and she is demanding accountability for those who utilized the report to undermine the incoming Trump administration, as noted by the Times.

Gabbard claims that those implicated include former President Obama, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former CIA Director John Brennan, and former FBI Director James Comey. Following the release of the reports, Clapper stated in an interview that he has “lawyered up.”

Fred Fleitz, a former CIA analyst with nearly two decades of experience at the agency, informed the Times that he believes “the whole thing really undermined the reputation of U.S. intelligence, not just CIA.”

“It made it appear as though it’s a significant political game. There’s always some politics involved, but it was never as severe as it became once Trump assumed the presidency,” he remarked, referencing alleged partisan misuse of intelligence by then-Representative Adam Schiff, a California Democrat, and Brennan.

“The integrity of our democratic republic relies on it. We are submitting all documents to the DOJ for criminal referral,” Gabbard concluded.
