Hunter Drops 7-Word Response to Melania’s $1 Billion Lawsuit Threat

A rising conflict between Melania Trump and Hunter Biden escalated on Thursday after the son of former President Joe Biden issued a profanity-laden reply to the first lady’s request for an apology regarding his assertion that connected her to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

In a YouTube interview last month with Andrew Callaghan, Hunter Biden claimed that Epstein — the financier and convicted sex offender who took his own life in prison in 2019 — was the individual who initially introduced Melania to her eventual spouse, Donald Trump. Melania’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, condemned the assertion in a letter to Hunter Biden last week, labeling it as false and “extremely salacious.”

In a letter to Hunter Biden, which was first reported by Fox News, Brito threatened a $1 billion lawsuit if he did not retract the statement, claiming that it had inflicted “overwhelming financial and reputational harm” on Melania Trump.

On Thursday, Hunter Biden returned to Callaghan’s YouTube show, where he was offered the opportunity to apologize to the first lady.

“F— that, that’s not going to happen,” he retorted.

“[Epstein and Trump] were well acquainted, they spent a significant amount of time together,” Hunter Biden stated, referring to a passage from a book authored by Michael Wolff, who claims to be a biographer of Trump.

President Trump has dismissed Wolff as a “third-rate reporter” and has expressed skepticism regarding many of the stories he has recounted about Trump and his family, as noted by ABC News.

The Daily Beast, which also reported on Wolff’s assertion, retracted its article after receiving a similar letter from Melania Trump’s attorney and issued an apology “for any confusion or misunderstanding.”

“I can only rely on what people are saying, I don’t know,” Hunter Biden remarked to Callaghan.

“If they wish to participate in a deposition to elucidate the nature of the relationship with Jeffrey Epstein — should the president and the first lady desire to do so … I am more than willing to offer them the platform necessary to facilitate this,” he remarked.

Nick Clemens, a representative for Melania, replied to a request for commentary from ABC News with the following: “First Lady Melania Trump’s legal team is actively pursuing immediate retractions and apologies from those who disseminate malicious, defamatory falsehoods. The accurate account of how the First Lady encountered President Trump is detailed in her best-selling book, ‘Melania.’”

In her memoir, Melania Trump, a former model, stated that she first met Donald at a Fashion Week party in New York in 1998, where they were introduced by a modeling agent.

Hunter Biden is familiar with legal challenges. Just weeks prior to Trump’s inauguration, then-President Biden granted a pardon to his son ahead of sentencing in Delaware and California for two criminal convictions that could have resulted in substantial prison time.

He has also initiated several lawsuits against individuals he claims exploited and misused data from his laptop in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election. One such case — a defamation lawsuit against former Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne — is scheduled to go to trial this fall.

Hunter was compelled to withdraw his case against Fox News in June after alleging that the network breached the law by airing sexually explicit photographs of him in a six-part “mock trial” series titled “The Trial of Hunter Biden.”

He initially threatened to litigate against the network in April 2024, which led streaming service Fox Nation to remove the miniseries.

Hunter subsequently filed a lawsuit against Fox in July of that year but retracted the action a few weeks later. In October, he submitted another complaint, which he officially dismissed in June of this year.

“We are pleased to proceed now that Hunter Biden has ultimately chosen to voluntarily withdraw this baseless case, which turned out to be nothing more than a politically motivated stunt,” stated Fox News.
