Vice President JD Vance remarked that numerous individuals are likely to face indictment due to the actions taken by the Obama administration in connection with the so-called Russiagate scandal.
In an interview on Fox News Sunday, Vance refrained from disclosing any specific names of individuals he believes will be charged. However, he referenced recent revelations from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard as definitive proof of an “aggressive violation of the law” regarding Russiagate.
“In the meantime, we are still awaiting an account of the entire Russia collusion narrative, which has been fabricated. Now that DNI Tulsi Gabbard has made public all those classified documents, we are beginning to understand who orchestrated this. Do you wish to see indictments?” host Maria Bartiromo inquired.
“I certainly want to see indictments, Maria. It is essential that the law adheres to the facts in this matter. Indictments should not be issued arbitrarily; they should be based on legal violations. However, considering what Tulsi and Kash Patel have disclosed in recent weeks, it is difficult to argue that there were no aggressive violations of the law,” Vance stated.
“Essentially, they deceived the American public to transform Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign talking points into intelligence by misleading the American people and the intelligence agencies, misrepresenting the content of the intelligence,” he continued.
Vance elaborated, “They would take information that supported a talking point of Hillary Clinton’s campaign and amplify it, while downplaying any evidence that contradicted that narrative. They buried anything that opposed that storyline. In doing so, they effectively laundered Hillary Clinton’s campaign messages through the American intelligence services. This constitutes a breach of public trust and a violation of the intended purpose of our intelligence agencies, and I firmly believe they broke the law. You will see…
Last month, Gabbard initiated the release of documents pertaining to the investigation conducted by the Obama administration regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Included in these releases was the declassification of a report from the 2020 House Intelligence Committee, which was authored by Republicans and concluded that there was inadequate evidence to support the claim that Russia had backed President Trump in 2016.
Additionally, Gabbard disclosed documents that demonstrate that senior intelligence officials possess evidence indicating that Russia did not compromise the 2016 voting systems in a manner that would allow them to affect the election results.
Vance stated, “What they essentially did was deceive the American public to transform Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign talking points into intelligence,” accusing the intelligence community from the Obama administration of “misrepresenting what the intelligence indicated.”
In response to Gabbard’s disclosures, the Justice Department established a “strike force” to examine whether any criminal violations occurred based on the findings.
Last week, US Attorney General Pam Bondi sought to assemble a grand jury to investigate officials from the Obama administration. Grand juries are responsible for determining whether to issue indictments.
Former CIA Director John Brennan and former DNI James Clapper have countered Gabbard’s claims, referencing a 2020 bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report that asserted the panel “consistently heard that analysts were not subjected to politically motivated pressure to arrive at specific conclusions.”
Clapper and Brennan also published an op-ed in which they asserted that the 2017 Intelligence Community assessment, which triggered Gabbard’s indignation, did not mention any “collusion” between Trump and other parties.
A representative for former President Barack Obama released an uncommon statement rejecting Gabbard’s claims.
“The strange accusations are absurd and represent a feeble effort at diversion,” stated spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush last month. “Nothing in the document released last week undermines the broadly accepted conclusion that Russia sought to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not effectively alter any votes.”
